2024 SPRING SEMESTER SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
 

$500 scholarships are available for the spring 2024 semester at Highland Community College for Stephenson County residents who are pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.

 

Stephenson County Crime Stop, working to assist local, state, and national crime fighting organizations since 1981, is proud to announce the offering of $500 scholarships for the spring semester at Highland Community College (HCC) in Freeport.  Applications for the scholarship will only be accepted from Stephenson County residents who will be enrolled at H.C.C. pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.

 

The application deadline is January 8th, 2024 and requires the submission of transcripts and an essay.  Further details about the scholarship can be found on the application form itself.  Applications for this scholarship opportunity are also available at the Lena Police Department headquarters building located at at 118 E. Main Street in Lena.

 

Stephenson County Crime Stop is an all-volunteer board, and a member of both the Illinois State Crime Stoppers Association and Crime Stoppers USA.  Additionally, two of Stephenson County Crime Stop’s directing board members have become board members for the Illinois State Crime Stoppers Association.

 

Stephenson County Crime Stop is completely funded by local donations.  Anyone who wishes to support Stephenson County Crime Stop through a tax-exempt donation can do so by mail to: Stephenson County Crime Stop, P.O. Box 786, Freeport, IL 61032.

 

Stephenson County Crime Stop provides a telephone number, P3 tip mobile application and website link to submit tips to encourage citizens in the community to volunteer vital information helpful to law enforcement agencies in a secure manner to fight again crime.  Crime Stop tipsters remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000!accepts tips through their website, their Facebook page, the P3 mobile phone app, and by telephone.  Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for cash rewards of up $1,000.  

 

The Stephenson Crime Stop board meets monthly at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau building in Freeport, and meetings are always open to the public.

FALL 2018 SCHOLARSHIP AWARD 
 
During Stephenson County Crime Stop's monthly board meeting on Monday, July 30th, 2018, Owen Peight of Lena Illinois was awarded a $500 Criminal Justice scholarship for the fall semester at Highland Community College.  Stephenson County Crime Stop, working to assist local, state, and national crime fighting organizations since 1981, will in the near future, be announcing the next scholarship opportunity for Stephenson County residents who will be enrolling at Highland Community College to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
